Faith Renee Hamilton, 16, Found Dead in Monroe County. Authorities are investigating the deaths of two teenagers found Tuesday morning near Heiss Road in Raisinville Township. Among them was 16-year-old Faith Renee Hamilton of Monroe County, whose death has left the community devastated.
The teens were discovered around 10 a.m. near a vehicle parked off the road after a concerned family member, using a phone location app, traced their whereabouts. Faith’s uncle was the one who located them and contacted emergency responders.
Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough confirmed that both Faith and the second teenager, identified as Landon Bryan Lafond, 16, died from gunshot wounds. Investigators also found writings inside the vehicle that suggested the act may have been planned in advance. Law enforcement is treating Faith as the victim and Landon as the suspected shooter.
“It is still under investigation, and while initial signs suggest this was a deliberate act, we are awaiting official findings,” said Sheriff Goodnough during a media briefing.
Officials are not yet classifying the incident as a murder-suicide, as they await results from autopsies and further evidence. It is also unclear who drove the vehicle to the location or how Faith arrived there.
Both Bedford Township Schools and Airport Community Schools have activated crisis response teams and made grief counselors available to students and families affected by the tragedy.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about Faith Hamilton or the events leading up to her death to contact local authorities. Community members are being encouraged to speak up if they can provide any insight that could assist the investigation.
As the investigation continues, the Monroe community mourns the loss of a vibrant young life and searches for answers behind this tragic event.
